Our Lady of Lebanon
The large statue of the Virgin Mary and surrounding sanctuary form an important Christian pilgrimage site. Churches and religious buildings remain in active use, so dress and behave respectfully.
Terraces around the sanctuary provide wide views over Jounieh Bay and the Mediterranean coast.
Teleferique from Jounieh
The cable car from Jounieh is a well-known route towards Harissa, with a short funicular connection continuing uphill. Operations, hours and ticket conditions can change with weather, maintenance and season.
A taxi or car provides an alternative when the cable car is not operating.
Plan your visit
Harissa works as a shorter excursion from Jounieh or as part of a full day with Jeita Grotto. Leave margin for traffic, queues and changing operating conditions.
Plan your visit
Beirut: Journey time varies with the route and traffic. Allow a generous margin and check current road conditions before departure.
Allow enough time to explore without relying on a tightly timed onward journey.
Check seasonal conditions, weather and current opening information before visiting.
